Venture capitalist Adam Dell is the father of television personality Padma Lakshmi's newborn daughter, a source close to Lakshmi told the New York Daily News.

Lakshmi, the host of TV's "Top Chef," announced the birth of her daughter Krishna last month, but did not disclose who the child's father is.

"(Lakshmi and Dell) had an on-and-off minimal relationship that ended many, many months ago," a source told the Daily News.

"There already is a very fair agreement in place," the insider added. "She doesn't want anything from him. She's juggling all of this with motherhood and preparing to go back to work and it's a lot to handle."
