Rap star Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges lands 'Law & Order: SVU' role

He's a rap star as Ludacris, a film star as Chris Bridges and now the actor/rapper is getting ready to hit TV via "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

Bridges will play the nephew of Ice-T's character, Detective Finn in the March 28 episode of Dick Wolf's NBC drama, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.

The star of "Hustle & Flow" and "Crash" said in a statement that he has long been a fan of Wolf's "Law & Order" franchise.

"When I was approached to work on 'SVU' and read the script, there was no way that I could turn down this amazing opportunity," he said. "The character was so rich and the story line so complex that I knew it was something I had to do."

Bridges was expected to don his Ludacris persona Wednesday night for the Grammy Awards, where he is nominated for best rap single.
