Portia De Rossi requests to legally change name to Portia DeGeneres

Portia de Rossi has filed papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court to legally change her name to Portia DeGeneres, TMZ reported Monday.

The actress, who is best known for her roles on TV's "Ally McBeal" and "Arrested Development," married talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres in 2008.

TMZ said the papers the actress filed last Friday said, "Petitioner is taking the last name of her spouse."
