Organizers said the electoral event scheduled for the Manchester Monarchs' game at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H., on Friday will represent New Hampshire's place as the first U.S. state with an electoral primary, The Manchester (N.H.) Union-Leader said.
Jason Bergeron, vice president of ticket sales and marketing, said the event will allow the first 2,000 fans at Friday's game to choose a bobble-head of either U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., or Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
"With New Hampshire having the first primary and being the home of politics, we figured it could be a win-win for everybody," Bergeron said. "Everybody is so serious right now, and they should be, but why not have a little fun?"
The winner of the bobble-head election will be announced during the second period of the hockey team's game, the Union-Leader said.
