The Hills star Whitney Port is offically hitting The Big Apple.
"I am thrilled and honored to be in New York City, not only working for one of the most renowned fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, but to be able to mature as a young woman both professionally and personally," Port said.
The City -- which is set to premiere in early 2009 and was first reported to be in development back in June -- will be the first spinoff of The Hills, which was itself a spinoff of the network's Laguna Beach reality series. Port befriended Conrad when the former Laguna Beach star moved to Los Angeles upon graduating high school. She has since appeared in all four seasons of The Hills. I hope they do the show," Conrad told Us Weekly of Port and her then rumored spinoff back in June. "I think that Whitney will do really well with it. She is a very likable person."
