TVGN has announced it's ordered The Sorrentinos, a new reality series starring the former Jersey Shore star and his family.

The Sorrentinos will document The Situation's current sober lifestyle and feature the following Sorrentino family members: Mike, his youngest brother; Linda, his mother; Marc, the middle brother; Melissa, his sister; and Frank, the eldest brother.

The Situation will have one shot to extend his fame by building a real, respectable career. Meanwhile, the former eleventh-season Dancing with the Stars contestant will be battling addiction demons of his past with the support of his family, who offer both love and rivalry.

"We're excited to take viewers, who met Mike in a very different time and place of his life, and bring them along for this ride with The Sorrentinos," TVGN entertainment president Brad Schwartz said in a statement. "Family is everything and it's something people universally come back to no matter who you are and what you do. Fame just makes the stakes higher and more public."

"The reality of the situation is... for the first time, fans and the general public, will be able to see and, well, meet Michael Sorrentino," added The Situation. "This next chapter of my life is about sobriety and family, and I'm stoked to take people on this journey with us."

The network, which has picked up eight 30-minute episodes, will begin production of The Sorrentinos this week in New Jersey.

The Situation finished rehab in April 2012 after entering a treatment program a month earlier for his drug dependency problem. He told MTV News in May of that year alcohol wasn't even a factor in why he sought treatment.

"It was strictly painkillers and I never mixed them either, even on Jersey Shore, which obviously people have seen me with a drink in my hand and I was never drunk," The Situation said at the time. "I was the guy that was the ladies man. You know, you can't get girls if you can't speak to them. So drinking was definitely not an issue for me."

The Situation is following in the footsteps of his fellow Jersey Shore co-stars Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, and Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, who have all had their own reality spinoffs in recent years.

The Sorrentinos is being executive produced by Jarrett Creative with Julie Jarrett and Seth Jarrett serving as executive producers.
