Married at First Sight star Dave Flaherty is apparently on his own in thinking his strong reaction to Amber Martorana's claim she had only dated guys in the past who couldn't be trusted was justified.

During Tuesday night's episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, host Jamie Otis and Season 7 MAFS star Danielle Bergman took Amber's side after watching a clip of footage in which Dave appeared disappointed and judgmental over the fact Amber had dated men in the past whom she couldn't trust.

"You're the first person I ever trusted completely," Amber told her husband during a phone-swap exercise.

"That sucks you've never dated anyone you could trust before... Yeah. I mean, it's a little bit -- I think concerning is the wrong word, but it's surprising," Dave admitted in the clip.

"I guess I just tended to date guys who wouldn't be the best to be in a relationship with," Amber confessed.

"I wouldn't say that statement made me feel better about anything, but I understand... I think when you're married to someone who's only been drawn towards the wrong type of guy in the past, it's just not something I like hearing," Dave said in the footage.

"Alright, Dave, you have to talk us through that," Jamie noted on Married at First Sight: Unfiltered.

Danielle then insisted, "You were a little harsh, man."

"Harsh?" Dave asked Danielle.

"Yeah," Danielle confirmed.

"This conversation took a turn. It was all fine and dandy. Everything was going good. She's telling you that she trusts you," Jamie reasoned.

"It was tough hearing that she's only dated people that she can't trust," Dave shared.

"Not going to lie, but I dated men I thought I could trust, and they weren't trustworthy men," explained Jamie, who appeared on Ben Flajnik's season of The Bachelor before marrying her now-husband Doug Hehner on Season 1 of Married at First Sight.

"Same," Danielle said. "I've had really bad dating experiences."

"It's really not that abnormal," Jamie argued. "It's tough."

"Yeah, it was tough," Dave agreed.

"Do you wish you had reacted differently now that you've just watched it back here?" Jamie asked.

"After watching it back, it's so hard. I think that, yes, I could've handled it better and she could've handled it better," Dave clarified. "But honestly, I do like the feedback that it was harsh, because I don't necessarily see that."

Danielle then shared, "I think I can relate to [Amber] a little bit, like, I don't know if I would feel like it was my fault necessarily that I ended up -- I mean, yeah, obviously I dated the wrong people -- but that it was people that were not trustworthy."

"Yeah, that's fair," Dave pointed out.

"I was like, 'Wait, that's not her fault!'" Danielle exclaimed.

"Yeah. Yeah, yeah," Jamie agreed.

However, Jamie admitted a lot could change for the better in Dave and Amber's marriage given they were only halfway through the experiment when this conversation was had.

"Absolutely," Dave noted.

Danielle is married to Bobby Dodd on Married at First Sight's seventh season, which was filmed in Dallas, TX. The other couple participating in this season are Tristan Thompson and Mia Bally.
