Bride & Prejudice will chronicle three star-crossed couples about to get married in the face of opposition from their loved ones.

From the producers of Married at First Sight, Bride & Prejudice will debut with three couples deciding to wed while attempting to gain acceptance from prejudiced family and friends. The couples will be an interfaith pair from Baltimore, two gay people from Boston, and an interracial pair.

The couples will all strive to prove to their loved ones that differences in race, religion and sexual preference do not hinder the ability to love or be loved in return. However, they all desperately seek approval before walking down the aisle.

"FYI continues to pioneer brand-definitional relationship content," network executive Gena McCarthy said in a statement. "Bride and Prejudice shares culturally diverse and emotionally powerful stories of real people, tackling real issues, like race, religion, and sexual orientation, on their path toward marriage and love."

Once the couples announce their engagements and meet the in-laws, emotions run hugh. They'll feel pressure to call off their nuptials or may just determine in the end that marriage is more important than family opinion.

Bride & Prejudice, which will run for six episodes, is being produced by Kinetic Content and executive produced by Chris Coelen, Katie Griffin, John Platt, Gena McCarthy and James Bolosh.
