The former "Dancing with the Stars" competitor surprised staff at the tavern when she dropped by Thursday morning for the first time since 1990, The Boston Globe reported.
"They were very excited," Alley told the newspaper. "I haven't been there for a long time, so it was cool."
The actress went to the bar with Serge Onik, a former contestant on "So You Think You Can Dance," as part of her 100 Days of Dance initiative to live a healthy lifestyle.
The Globe said Alley and Onik have been traveling the country and taping themselves dancing every day.
They dance to the "Cheers" theme song when they stopped by the Boston bar, the newspaper said.
The footage is posted on 100daysofdance.com.
