The Hollywood Reporter quoted multiple sources Tuesday saying Katie Couric was poised to announce her departure from NBC's "Today" show.

The announcement paving the way for her to take over the anchor position of the CBS "Evening News" will be made Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. EDT, The Reporter said.
CBS has reportedly offered Couric $13 million a year to become the first solo woman anchor of a daily flagship newscast and to also contribute to its Sunday night "60 Minutes" news magazine.
Among the candidates considered front-runners to replace Couric on "Today" are Meredith Vieira, Campbell Brown, Natalie Morales and Ann Curry.
Talk Tuesday was that a deal was close to steal Vieira from ABC and "The View," but none of the players involved would comment on the report.
