Jon Gosselin feels his former Jon & Kate Plus 8 reality series gave his eight children developmental problems.

"Yes, they got to travel the world, and yes, they got these fabulous things, and yes, they have trust funds, and they're taken care of educationally. Great," Jon said during an appearance on Sunday night's broadcast of Oprah: Where Are They Now? on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

"But developmentally, they have problems with their peers, and they have problems with talking to other people, and they have problems with wants and needs and manners and morals and what's right and what's wrong of course. I think more so than someone who grows up off TV."

Jon and his ex-wife Kate Gosselin rose to fame during Jon & Kate Plus 8, which soiled his reputation following a very public cheating scandal and messy divorce. However, Jon to this day insists he was never unfaithful to Kate during their marriage.

"The most common misperception that I cheated on my wife, that I left my family [and] that I'm a party boy," Jon said, according to E! News. "But my family knows the truth."

Besides social issues he's recognizing with his children, Jon has also attributed his inability to find good-paying work to his former role on the reality series.

"I'm waiting tables at two different restaurants, which doesn't bother me. I'm just looking for a normal career so I can support my family and move on with my life," Jon reportedly explained.

However, Jon -- who's currently living in a cabin in the woods and says he has little to no contact with Kate -- claims he's "happy" with his new low-key lifestyle and "free" to "do what I want."

Jon & Kate Plus 8 began airing in 2007 before being relaunched as Kate Plus 8 in 2010 following the couple's 2009 divorce. TLC announced it was canceling Kate Plus 8 in August 2011.
