The Merrimack Mutual Fire Insurance Co. paid $75,365 in fire damage resulting from the April 21, 2004, blaze according to papers filed Monday in Manhattan Supreme Court.
The insurance company sued O'Neal for the money, accusing the actress of allegedly causing the fire because of her "carelessness, recklessness and negligence." But the court papers do not explain what O'Neal is specifically accused of doing, the Post said.
O'Neal's manager would not comment to the newspaper.
