Former 'Bachelor' star Andy Baldwin "just friends" with Miss Iran 2005

By Christopher Rocchio, 09/25/2007

Andy Baldwin was affectionate with 25 women as the star of Spring 2007's The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman, however it was some recent photos of the U.S. Navy Lieutenant looking cozy with Miss Iran 2005 Sepideh Haftgoli that presumably could have landed him in hot water with former fiance Tessa Horst.

"We're just friends," explained Baldwin about his relationship with Haftgoli in Us Weekly's October 1 issue.  "I'm just an affectionate guy, and we were on our way to catch up with friends.  There's absolutely nothing going on."

Photos of the Officer and a Gentleman star hanging out with Haftgoli in a Los Angeles park on September 9 -- different versions of which were posted on several websites -- showed the pair engaging in behavior that could mean their relationship is more than just plutonic.

While some of the photos just show Baldwin and Haftgoli enjoying the outdoors together, others appear to show the two repeatedly hugging, snuggling, and engaging in other potentially flirty behavior.

But Baldwin told Us that he and Haftgoli have been friends for three years after they met through a mutual friend.

"We were just hanging out and enjoying the day," he told Us.  "Tessa and I were together all weekend."

Haftgoli, a 26-year-old former Miss Iran who has previously dated former Friends actor David Schwimmer, supported Baldwin's side of the story.

"They were innocent photos and innocent hugs," she told Us.

Last month, Baldwin and Horst had announced that they had decided to end their engagement but insisted they were still "very much in love" and "committed" to their relationship.
