The couple were in Los Angeles to tape the Universal Fox show, scheduled to air April 1, The Colorado Springs Gazette reported. Lynn Toler, the judge on the show, interviewed Haggard and his wife, Gayle, on how their marriage survived the scandal.

The Haggards hope to show other couples that divorce is not the answer to marital problems.

"This is part of Ted's journey," Gayle Haggard said. "It's made him a better man. I see what has happened as a divine rescue."

Haggard was forced out of the National Association of Evangelicals and the New Life Church in Colorado Springs in 2006 after a male prostitute accused him of drug use and soliciting sex. He denied the allegations at first but eventually confessed.

After more than two years out of the public eye, Haggard began hitting the talk-show circuit in January.
