Demi Lovato is not undergoing treatment for addictions to drugs or alcohol despite reports claiming she is, a publicist for the U.S. singer and actress said.

The 18-year-old star of TV's "Sonny with a Chance" checked into rehab last week for undisclosed reasons and canceled the rest of her scheduled concert tour with the Jonas Brothers.

"Demi Lovato is not in treatment for drug or alcohol addiction," Lovato's representative told E! News Wednesday.

"As we have said since she entered treatment last week, Demi decided to seek help for emotional and physical issues she has battled throughout her life," the publicist added. She has taken this step in order to get her life in order. While we know many are interested in Demi and her life, we do ask for a modicum of privacy during this difficult time."
