In court papers made public Thursday, Bach charged her husband of 16 years harassed, threatened and physically attacked her, E! Online reported.
The "Baywatch" star filed for divorce from his wife Jan. 12 and she filed her own petition the following day. Initially, the split was described as amicable, with the couple sharing custody of their two daughters.
Bach subsequently went to court seeking a restraining order against her husband and leveling the abuse charges. Her request on the grounds of abuse was denied, but the judge signed a temporary restraining order barring the actor from coming near or contacting his wife.
The statement released Friday and posted on TMZ.com says: "David Hasselhoff categorically denies that he has engaged in the conduct alleged by his wife. Unfortunately, Mrs. Hasselhoff has personal issues that need to be addressed with the assistance of professionals."
The actor said he would not make further comment "out of consideration for his children."
