UPI News Service, 06/12/2010

Welsh-born Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones was on the British Queen's Honors list Saturday, which also includes less glamorous figures.

The Times in London said Zeta-Jones, set to be appointed a CBE, or commander of the British Empire, was joined on the list by cricket statisticians.

Others include artist Paula Rego, horror writer James Herbert and rock 'n' roll's iconic viola player John Cale of the Velvet Underground, The Times said.

Frank Duckworth and Tony Lewis, who invented a method for deciding cricket matches where rain stops play, were set to be appointed MBEs, or members of the British Empire -- two steps lower than Zeta-Jones's honor.

Graham Nash, of the Hollies and Crosby, Stills and Nash was set to be appointed OBE, or offcer of the British Empire, ranked between the CBE and the MBE.

Though she is now based in the United States and is the wife of U.S. actor Michael Jones, the actress started life as plain Catherine Jones of the Mumbles, Swansea, Wales, The Times said.
