The couple met in 1980, married in 1984 and are the parents of an adopted daughter.
Their separation was announced earlier this year and they were officially divorced in London's High Court on the grounds of Henry's "unreasonable behavior." Neither party attended Monday's hearing dissolving their marriage, the BBC said.
French is best known for her comedy collaborations with Jennifer Saunders, as well as for the sitcom "The Vicar of Dibley."
Henry is a television personality and one of the founders of the Comic Relief charity.
