Canadian rockers Barenaked Ladies are using their irreverent humor to help celebrate the holidays this year.

The group released an album, "Barenaked For the Holidays," in October featuring holiday favorites and some original songs. It brings its holiday tour to North America on Monday with two shows in New York.
"They're gonna be certainly different from what people are used to seeing us playing," BNL's Steven Page says of the shows. "We knew we had an opportunity to do something different with these shows being A) in theaters and B) kind of holiday-oriented, that it wasn't like it was a tour we were going to be touring for the next year."
"Barenaked For the Holidays" features both Christmas and Hanukkah songs.
The 13-show holiday tour includes two appearances in New York City, Boston and Toronto, and wraps up on New Year's Eve in Tampa, Fla. Following the tour BNL will be working on a pilot for a proposed TV variety show that will be shot in early 2005.
