'American Idol' producers boosting security for judges

Producers of popular Fox TV show "American Idol" are boosting security for judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.

The sharp-tongued Englishman laughed as hopeful Leroy Wells, 22, did a rap song and then told him, "That was awful."
But Wells, from Alabama, watched his recorded audition from jail -- after being arrested in an alleged shooting of another man, the Sun reported Thursday.
