All-star pals join Bonnie Raitt on new 'Friends' duets album release

UPI News Service, 08/15/2006

Bonnie Raitt says she was flattered by the all-star pals who showed up to be part of her new release, "Bonnie Raitt and Friends."

The CD/DVD set was culled from a VH1 Classic "Decades Rock Live" special taped Sept. 30 at the Trump Taj Mahal in New Jersey. It features duets with Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Alison Krauss and Keb' Mo', including a full-cast rendition of Raitt's "Love Sneakin' Up on You" at the end.

"It was funny to be the doyenne, with the younger generation paying tribute to me, because I'm usually in the other position," says Raitt.

"I was knocked out that all four of them just happened to be available. And, of course, they sat 'em down out of my earshot and interviewed them, and when I heard the nice things they all said I was knocked out."

Raitt has released a version of "Two Lights in the Nighttime" with Harper as a single from the album.
