After a notable drop in U.S. ratings, the ABC comedy "Help Me Help You" has been put on hiatus to make room for extra episodes of newcomer "Big Day."

Beginning next Tuesday, the network will offer back-to-back episodes of the new wedding comedy starring Josh Cooke and Marla Sokolff in place of the departing Ted Danson-lead "Help Me," Zap2it.com reported.
The former "Cheers" star's series had met with decent success when it had "Dancing With the Stars" as its lead-in, but since the dancing series concluded its season "Help Me" has itself been in desperate need of ratings help.
While ABC would not confirm if the series was effectively canceled, the network said that "Big Day" will be featured with two new episodes each Tuesday over the next five weeks.
At that pace, Zap2it.com reported, the comedy about a couple's struggles to plan their wedding will have aired all of its 13 ordered episodes by the middle of January.
