ABC said it will plug the reality competition into the 8 p.m. Thursday slot currently held by "Alias." It is expected "Dancing with the Stars" will have an eight week run, TV Week reported.
"Alias" is taking a midseason break while its star Jennifer Garner takes maternity leave.
