America's Next Top Model 8 - Episode 8 Summary

'Character Assassination' By Belinda James
Original Airdate: April 11, 2007

This week's show was full of unexpected surprises.  The producers cannot get enough of lesbian love scenes. Guess which two had to play lovers?  ANTM fans will also love the flashback scenes…Who stole someone's granola bars, which model has a flesh eating rash and which ex contestants need a job?  Those and many other questions answered in this week's America's Next Top Model.   Read on for all the delicious details…

In the opening scene once again Whitney could not believe she was in the bottom two for the third time.  "This week I'm going into it full throttle", says Whitney.  Oh brother, how many weeks do we have to hear that line.  In the house the girls feel Renee needs to be more sensitive.  Natasha and Dionne are really missing their babies and Brittney is still itchin',cryin' scratchin' and trying her best to pull her weave out with her bare hands.?... Who?  Well, whatever Brittney said to Tyra, the producers and/or Jay/Jay worked because the house hairstylist came over to take her matted mess of a weave out.

DALIA; When in the history of the show did Tyra ever undo a makeover because of a little crying.  If Tyra had any balls she would have told Brittney "welcome to my world".  Black girls have been wearing weaves for years and they do not carry on the way Brittney did.  No matter what a model cried about, the show always told the models to suck it up to experience.  What happened this time?

In the next sceneTia Mory of the TV show, The Game gave the girls acting advice on evoking various characters through body language.  She gave them all scripts which they had two hours to learn.  Whitney was sure that she would win this challenge because acting is her 'thang'.  In the end Renee won the acting challenge and chose Dionne to share her prize.  Dionne was totally shocked that Renee chose her. "Me", started Dionne, "Why would she choose me?"  Renee said Dionne does not trust her and would not get another chance to prove herself. Maybe this will fix the problem.  Renee and Dionne received t-shirts as a prize. Hmmmm.

The next day the girls heard knocking at the door.  When they opened it, there were some strange people at the door.  Well, the guests were not strange to Renee and Dionne because it was their family members.  This was the real prize for winning the acting challenge.  Renee's husband and baby was a sight for Renee's sore eyes.  Dionne's sister, mother and two year old baby girl were also part of the special guest surprise package.  Natasha was very upset that she did not get a chance to see her baby.  "I have a baby too." Natasha begins.  "How could they overlook me?  I'm a mother too.  Don't they think that I would want to see my baby too?"

DALIA; Does Natasha know that the reason she did not see her baby was because she did not win the challenge?  What is she thinking?  Oh, Duh… she didn't think.  Sorry.  Girls who have babies should not be on the show.  Top models such as Cindy Crawford and Kristy Brinkley waited to retire from modeling before having their families.  It is a big sacrifice to be a model with all the traveling.  All mothers at one time or another made some type of sacrifice for their children.

…and now a commercial break….  Caridee shares another CoverGirl commercial with previous top model winners Daniel and Niema.  They need real jobs not a piggy back ride off  of Caridee's year as the winner.

Anyway, the girls had to portray a situation that happened in a previous cycle.  Let me explain… Remember Bre from cycle 5 who made a big stink because someone took her granola bars?  Jaslene will be acting out the same scene with Bre in a photo shoot while featuring Pay Less shoes. Ooooh… A big plug for Pay Less shoes.  Whoopi!   Let's see if you remember some of our most memorable scenes from past cycles.

Remember Michelle from Cycle 4 who had the flesh eating skin disease?  Natasha will be taking on that scene.  Shannon from Cycle 1 is the girl that would not pose nude.  Whitney, the actress, will have to pull this one off or she will be going home.  Rebecca from Cycle 4 fainted during a critique at the elimination ceremony.  Jael will have to pretend she is fainting (Ha, this should be an easy one for Jael.) Remember the freak show circus shoot where twins Amanda and Michelle were attached at the head?  Well, Brittney will be shooting with the twins as triplets.  In Cycle 6, Joannie was the girl with the crooked teeth.  She spent more than six hours in the dentist chair.  Now she is gorgeous and will be shooting with Renee.  Finally, remember Kim, the lesbian from Cycle 5 who was kissing another contestant in the limo?  Well they gave Dionne the honors of recreating the kissing scene.  Dionne was not thrilled at first.  "I don't want to kiss my own boyfriend and now they want me to kiss a woman", explained Dionne.  After it was all over Dionne got some great shots and said she actually enjoyed it.

DALIA:  All the ex-contestants need a job.  Why are they on the show?  I'm not excited to see them.  Once you're off the show, Tyra has nothing to do with the girls.  The new girls should not have to share the spotlight.

Anyway… It's time for the elimination ceremony.  What type of balloon outfit was Tyra wearing this week?  I couldn't tell if it was a gipsy outfit or …hmm? I just could not figure it out.  The way the fabric gathered around her breasts made them look gigantic.  We also see that the stylist can only do one head per episode, hence this week's smaller head wrap.  Taking out Brittney's weave was more important than having Tyra's hair combed.  When Dionne was called to view her photos, Tyra called her outfit dumpy.  Oh my gosh. Look who's talking.  Is Dionne the mirror image of Tyra when it comes to style?  When the ladies were called Tyra told Jaslene that she was getting weaker and weaker.  They like the way Natasha is stepping up her game and once again Miss "I'm gonna show them this week Whitney" did not deliver.  Whitney and Jael ended up in the bottom two.

The judges felt that both girls have what the other needs to stay in the competition.  Jael need to learn how to speak and enunciate her words so that people will understand what she is trying to say and Whitney needs to shine in her photos.  She is great in person but on camera she sucks.  Well, three strikes and your out Whitney.  In her exit interview she said, "I honestly wanted to be America's Next Top Model.  Tyra said I had acting ability so I think I will try it."

DALIA:  Tyra lied.  Whitney better go back to school to get a degree in something other than acting.  She did not win the acting challenge because she was not good enough.  When it comes to speaking, Tyra cannot only pick on Jael; she must also look at Jaslene.  Why are they focusing so much on speaking?  Did they allow the girls to speak during the audition process?  Oh I forgot, they selected the worst girls so that they could mold them and take credit for their giant success.

See you next week when we will find out who will be the next  to lose a chance at becoming America's Next Top Model and stay tuned to read the eliminated contestants interviews.
