Raw general manager Adam Pearce kicked off the show on Monday to announce that Seth Rollins was injured and needed surgery, putting him out of action for an extended period of time.

Rollins, who was the current World Heavyweight Champion, was betrayed last week by his partners Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, along with his manager Paul Heyman.

Breakker, Reed and Heyman, known collectively as The Vision, came to the ring to speak with Pearce while Breakker held onto the World Heavyweight Championship.

Breakker reluctantly handed the title over to Pearce, who announced that a Battle Royal would take place in the main event of Raw to determine a No. 1 contender. Pearce later excluded Breakker and Reed from competing in the Battle Royal, due to their attack on Rollins.

CM Punk was previously crowned a No. 1 contender last week and provided commentary on the main event.

The Battle Royal featured all of Raw's top stars in the ring at the same time. If a wrestler was thrown over the top rope with both feet touching the floor, they were eliminated from the match.

The Battle Royal came down to Jey Uso, his twin brother Jimmy Uso, LA Knight and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio.

Jey Uso was able to eliminate Knight and Jimmy Uso, much to his brother's surprise. Mysterio was then almost able to surprise eliminated Jey Uso from behind, but the former champion endured and won the Battle Royal.

Jey Uso and CM Punk will now face each other at Saturday Night's Main Event on Nov. 1 for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship.
