Wicked: One Wonderful Night is returning to NBC Dec. 31.

The two-hour special was recorded at Los Angeles' Dolby Theater and will air at 8 p.m. EST. The encore comes as Wicked: For Good plays in theaters, raking in nearly $400 million in box office receipts.

One Wonderful Night saw the theater become "a breathtaking Emerald City-inspired set," per an official synopsis.

The special also includes an orchestra, and movie-inspired dance scenes.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, who portray Elphaba and Glinda in the films, respectively, helm the event, which also stars Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang and Marissa Bode.

Erivo and Grande perform alongside Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, who portrayed Elphaba and Glinda in the Wicked Broadway show that inspired the films. That collaboration was filmed in New York City's Gershwin Theatre.
