Warren Sapp proved he can sack a quarterback, and now he's ready to show he can tackle dancing.

The 35-year-old defensive end -- who retired from the NFL after the 2007 season -- listed participating in Dancing with the Stars as something he might be interested in doing now that his football career is over.

"I want something short and sweet. I'd love to have a radio gig, just turn on the mic and talk about the topics of the day. I might do that Dancing With the Stars," Sapp told the St. Petersburg Times in a Thursday report.

Sapp added appearing on the ABC reality series as a celebrity participant is something he's already been approached about.

"It's something that sort of came out of nowhere," he told the Times.  "But I enjoy the idea of training for something else. My whole life has been football. I could hang out in L.A. for a few weeks. My daughter would love it. There's nothing wrong with my smile. I don't think I speak Ebonics. I think I will [do the show]."

Should Sapp actually be cast for Dancing with the Stars he would be the latest in a line of NFL stars to do so, as retired wide receiver Jerry Rice finished second with Anna Trebunskaya during the show's second season; retired running back Emmitt Smith took home the third-season mirror ball trophy with Cheryl Burke; and active defensive end Jason Taylor finished second with Edyta Sliwinska during the show's sixth season this spring.

Dancing with the Stars' seventh season will air this fall as part of ABC's primetime programming lineup.
