Martha Stewart told People magazine her skin got better while she served her five-month sentence at a federal prison in Alderson, W.Va.

Stewart, sentenced for lying to federal investigators, said she bought "very good" Avon shampoo and "great" Neutrogena products in the prison commissary, the New York Post reported Sunday.

"Luckily, I could buy them," she told the magazine for its "50 Most Beautiful People" edition. "A lot of people down there don't have the money to get the products."

Stewart said all buildings in the prison had a little room with a big mirror, blow-dryers and irons. She said she showed other prisoners how to blow-dry their hair with a "flick of the wrist" - a method she learned from Manhattan stylist Frederic Fekkai.
