Similar to its first two seasons, Cake Boss will continue to follow cake artist Buddy Valastro and his large Italian family as they run Carlo's Bakery -- a Hoboken, NJ bakery that specializes in novelty and special occasion cakes.

Production has already begun on the 26-episode third season, which is currently slated to premiere in May.

"Buddy and his team are true artists, and have created the most amazing cakes this season - including a life-sized NASCAR cake!" said TLC programming executive Nancy Daniels.

"We can't wait to see what's next for entire family at Carlo's bakery."

Cake Boss' second season premiered in October and has averaged 1.8 million total viewers throughout its broadcast run. The show's second-season finale will air on Monday, February 15 at 9PM ET/PT.
