The Voice eliminated four artists and determined the sixteenth season's Top 4 finale contenders during Tuesday night's live results broadcast on NBC.

The Voice Results began with host Carson Daly announcing the three artists who had received the most home viewer votes following Monday night's Top 8 performance show and were therefore definitely advancing to next week's final performance show.

Those lucky artists were Maelyn Jarmon from John Legend's team as well as Dexter Roberts and Gyth Rigdon from Blake Shelton's team.

The two singers who unfortunately received the fewest number of votes and were automatically eliminated as a result were Kim Cherry and Carter Lloyd Horne from "Team Blake."

The remaining three artists from the Top 8 -- Shawn Sounds from "Team Legend," Rod Stokes from Kelly Clarkson's team, and Andrew Sevener from "Team Blake" -- were in jeopardy of elimination but afforded the opportunity to sing for the night's one and only "Instant Save."

After all three artists performed a song for survival last night, America tweeted via the show's "Instant Save" format to keep Andrew in the competition.

Andrew kicked off the elimination format by taking the stage with "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Blake absolutely thought Andrew's performance "was enough" to get him into the finale. Blake almost wished he had saved that song for the finale because he had never been more connected to a song.

"Guys, listen, Andrew is the real deal. He is country to the core. He's an incredible vocalist; he's a great guy. He deserves to be in the finale! Please, America!" Blake begged.

Rod then sang "Brother" by NeedToBreathe.

Kelly cried after listening to Rod perform, saying he was so good and she adores his voice. Kelly said he has a "classic voice" that just dominates any genre he attempts to sing.

And finally, Shawn belted out "That's What I Like" by Bruno Mars.

John begged America to vote for Shawn, saying he's "musically gifted." John said Shawn performs effortlessly and his voice is "so special." John bragged up how Shawn is capable of singing ballads, uptempos and more.

Home viewers then had a brief five-minute window to vote in real time for Shawn, Rod or Andrew to stay on The Voice via Twitter.

Towards the end of the commercial break, Andrew was leading with 41 percent of the vote, compared to Rod with 30 percent and then Shawn with 29 percent.

Prior to learning the night's final set of results, Andrew told Blake it had been "an honor" to work with him and obtain his wisdom and get to know him.

Rod thanked Kelly for helping him to "accomplish one of the greatest goals ever" in his life, and then Shawn told John that he'd make him proud whether or not he advances on The Voice.
