The Voice eliminated Daniel Passino and determined the tenth season's Top 9 artists during Tuesday night's broadcast on NBC.

Daniel, a 22-year-old from Ann Arbor, MI, landed in the bottom two with Nick Hagelin from Teaneck, NJ, based on home viewer votes cast following Monday night's Top 10 performance show. After both artists sang a survival song last night, America tweeted via the show's "Instant Save" format to keep Nick in the competition.

Daniel began The Voice on Christina Aguilera's team and ended up being coach Pharrell Williams' "Comeback Artist" of the season. Nick also happened to the "Comeback Artist" on Christina's team.

Nick kicked off the elimination format by singing "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran for his survival song. Coach Adam Levine admitted Nick should be the one moving forward on the show because he deserves it and is very talented. Christina agreed, saying Nick has been working so hard and grew so much in the competition.

Daniel then performed "Uptown Funk," but the performance was unfortunately more about dancing rather than highlighting his vocal strengths. Pharrell told Daniel that he's content in what they have achieved throughout this competition. Pharrell said they accomplished Daniel's goal of showing the world what he has to offer because he had more to give at the time of leaving the show during the Knockout Round.

Pharrell didn't really fight for Daniel to stay, so it seemed like the coach knew his fate.

America had a short window to vote for Daniel or Nick to stay on The Voice via Twitter. At the end of the final commercial break, Nick was leading a whopping 77% to Daniel's 23%.
