"Our whole thing was, you know, we're just going to be cool about this," Shelton said on the Bobby Bones show, according to CNN. "It is what it is. We're buddies."

Lambert and Shelton split after nine years together and four years of marriage.

Although news of the couple's breakup just surfaced in July, Shelton admitted his relationship with Lambert had ended beforehand and they kept the fallout a secret. By the time the media ran with the story, Shelton and Lambert had already filed the divorce paperwork in Oklahoma and it quickly became finalized.

"Miranda and I didn't have any kids, and we had our prenuptial agreement," Shelton reportedly said when talking about how easy the process happened to be. "Once we filed for divorce, it was over in a nine or ten-day waiting period."

Sources recently told People that Shelton has no desire to date or find a girlfriend, "certainly" not any time soon. For now, he's concentrating on his career and keeping himself healthy.

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on NBC.
