USA Network announced that former The Real World: Las Vegas and The Surreal Life star Trishelle Cannatella has joined the cast of Dr. Steve-O, a new reality series that will chronicle former Jackass and Wildboyz star Steven "Steve-O" Glover's attempts to toughen up men across the country.

Cannatella will serve as Steve-O's assistant as he seeks to "de-wussify wimps, nerds and couch potatoes" by administering his unique brand of "extreme attitude adjustments." Steve-O and Cannatella -- whom USA described as his "Nurse on Duty" -- will use a "specifically tailored" series of "shockingly hilarious stunts and embarrassingly funny and demented dares" to shake each subject out of their old dorky habits.

"We are thrilled to have Trishelle joining Steve-O for this one of a kind program," said Jeff Wachtel, USA's executive vice president original programming. "With her sex appeal and southern charm, she's a woman who will definitely help our guys find their new personas."

The 27-year-old Louisiana native burst onto the reality television scene in 2002 as a roommate on The Real World: Las Vegas, the twelfth edition of the long-running MTV series.

She was subsequently featured on MTV's Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet; The Surreal Life's second season; as well as E!'s Kill Reality, which chronicled the making of the movie The Scorned and featured an entire cast of reality television stars.  In addition, Cannatella has also appeared on NBC's Fear Factor; co-hosted the travel show VIP Passport; and posed nude for Playboy.  Most recently, she appeared in this summer's Reunited: The Real World Las Vegas, which brought The Real World: Las Vegas' cast members back together in Sin City.

Not surprisingly, Dr. Steve-O is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions -- the same company behind MTV's The Real World -- with Jonathan Murray and Jeff Jenkins serving as executive producers.

The seven-episode series is scheduled to debut Monday, October 1 at 11:05PM ET/PT on USA.
