Will and Rebecca couldn't overcome the large target they put on their backs, causing the 25-year-old server from Raleigh-Durham, NC and his partner, a 24-year-old student from Crown Point, IN, to become the third couple eliminated from Beauty and the Geek's fourth season during last night's broadcast of The CW reality competition series.

"I wish that we could have made it further... I blame myself for that," said Rebecca following her elimination.

Beauty and the Geek 4's fourth episode began following the previous elimination of Hollie Winnard and Josh Bishop, who were booted instead of Jesse, a 26-year-old software engineer from Cincinnati, OH, and his partner Erin, a 22-year-old hair stylist from Carol Stream, IL.

Since Will had won last week's geek challenge and Rebecca had won the beauty challenge, they'd been responsible for sending both Jesse and Erin as well as Josh and Hollie to the elimination round.

"I'm not a mean person and I'm not a conniving person, but yeah, for doing this to me with no real, legitimate reason, Will's going to the elimination room definitely," said Erin.

Will characterized Erin as "angry" and added the decision to send the couple to the elimination round could come back to "haunt" him and Rebecca.  Jesse realized Will is a "huge obstacle" to overcome in the competition -- but Rebecca seemed to be doing her best to further hurt her team's chances -- continuing to canoodle with Sam, a 26-year-old party promoter from Davis, CA who is serving as the hunky guy.

"I think tonight's an example of my worst fears coming true," said Sam's partner Nicole, a 25-year-old Tufts University musicology graduate student from San Francisco, CA serving as the nerdy girl, who heard Sam and Rebecca hooking up on the bunk above her.  She described what Sam and Rebecca were doing as "very disrespectful" and was worried what her friends back home would say when they saw it.

"This can't be the last impression people have of me," said Nicole, who eventually decided to flee her own bed.  The next morning, Nicole talked to Katie, a 25-year-old retail store manager from Schaumburg, IL, about the incident because she described Katie as "one of the beauties I feel most comfortable with."  Sam saw the two talking and said he "felt so bad" about what happened.

"It was just stupid and I was thinking about myself," said Sam.  "My brain wasn't working."  What Sam didn't know was that while Nicole held him somewhat responsible, she had already classified Rebecca as "the problem."

Beauty and the Geek host Mike Richards then informed the eight remaining couples that for their next challenges, they'd be participating in one of three possible challenges that had already appeared in previous seasons.  Beauty and the Geek fans were able to vote for their favorite challenge via The CW's website, and the one that received the most votes would be used.

However Mike said he wouldn't reveal which challenges received the most votes until right before they happen, meaning each beauty and geek had to study three possible topics.  The geeks had to study about giving massages; organizing a fashion show; and creating a workout routine, while the beauties had to study about rocket science; computers; and sociology.

As the geeks studied quickly since their challenge would be first, Will was "hoping and pleading" they would receive the massage-themed challenge since Rebecca is a massage therapist.  Meanwhile Nicole and Luke, a 23-year-old student from Columbus, OH, discussed how Will and Rebecca were the "biggest threat."  Luke likened Will to a "king," with the rest of the contestants serving as his "peasants."

"The peasants are really, really about to revolt," said Luke.

The beauties and geeks then walked outside for their challenge, and Nicole was instantly a "little bit worried" when she saw the massage chairs lined up.  To the contrary, Will knew he had a "good shot" at winning.  Mike informed the geeks that each would have three minutes to massage each of the beauties, who were blindfolded and would score the rubs they received.  The geek with highest score from the beauties would be safe from the next elimination along with his partner.

Sam described receiving massages from the geeks as "a nightmare that will forever be in my dreams."  Will was confident he'd be able to use what Rebecca taught him, and even adapted a "karate-chop technique" that he threw in at the end.  David, a 28-year-old fire department administrator from Somerville, MA, said he used the "typewriter technique" because his mom likes it (yup, that's gross).  William, a 23-year-old software engineer from Alexandria, VI, was labeled a scratcher.

Once all the geeks had the chance to massage all the beauties, Mike revealed the scores.  Will; Jesse; John, a 22-year-old analog circuit design student from Frederick, MD; and Joshua, a 26-year-old student from Princeton, NJ, were the top four highest scorers, with three of them finishing in second by only one point.  Everyone assumed Will had won the geek challenge for a third week in a row, but it was Jesse who's massage scored the best.

"Winning the very next challenge after we had been sent to the elimination room did feel kind of like poetic justice and maybe a little bit like karma as well," said Jesse following his victory.

"I'm very, very, very proud of Jesse," said Erin.  "I think that it boosted his confidence a lot... He was like smiles ear to ear, and that just makes me glow.  I'm glowing!"

Jesse wasn't shy about who he planned on sending to the elimination room, as he basically told Will he'd be nominating him and Rebecca if she failed to win the beauty's upcoming challenge.  Rebecca was aware she had a lot of studying to do but was "nervous."  Will also finally decided to approach Rebecca and apologize for saying she and Jesse "seem to not be interacting much" with the other couples as the reason for sending them to the elimination round the previous week.

"I would not hold it against you if you chose me," Will told Erin, aware that there was in fact a target on his back, but hoping she "wouldn't see revenge as the best course of action."   For Erin, it was too little too late.

"I do feel it was weird that he chose to talk to me after Jesse won the challenge," said Erin.  "He kept putting it off, like it wasn't important.  But when his team is at stake of possibly leaving, oh my gosh, now it's convenient for him.  That sucked."

Instead of studying, Rebecca and Sam fooled around with each other, and Nicole commented how she and Sam didn't study together at all.

"We're not much of a team yet," she said.

The beauties then arrived for their challenge and learned they had to assemble and launch a rocket, with the first beauty able to do it being safe from the next elimination and also able to nominate a couple.

Jennifer, a 26-year-old waitress and model from Boston, MA, and Rebecca started the challenge strong, with Shalandra, a 26-year-old bartender from Little Rock, AR, and Sam on their heels.  Sam was the first to attempt to launch his rocket, however it misfired and it seemed he was out of the challenge.  But several of the other beauties' rockets also misfired, so he was able to assemble it again and use what little fuel he had left to win the challenge.

"The Sam and Rebecca relationship --  if you can call it that -- needs to end," said Nicole.

Rebecca said she didn't think it was "fair" and added she wasn't ready to go home as she sobbed.  Sam was aware that whichever team he nominated for the elimination round would be up against Will and Rebecca, who he wanted to keep in the competition at all costs.  As Rebecca cried and complained to Will, Sam discussed his options with Nicole.

"At this point I think Sam might be distracted by his budding romance," explained Nicole.  "I think Rebecca has to go."

Sam won the first beauty challenge, and nominated John and Natalie, a 22-year-old waitress and Hooters promotional model from Raleigh, NC, for the elimination round.  He wanted to nominate them again this time, however Nicole advised that wouldn't be a good move because the other couples would construe it as an alliance with Will and Rebecca.  She suggested William and Jennifer because they'd be a "sure bet" to lose to Rebecca and Will, however it was strategy as Nicole explained she thought Jennifer could beat Rebecca.
Jesse then revealed he was sending Will and Rebecca to the elimination round because they're "arguably the strongest team in the house."

"They're just trying to seek revenge," said Rebecca.  "It's not revenge," Erin fired back.

Sam then blindly took Nicole's advice and nominated William and Jennifer, but said it was "hard" to say why he made that decision before revealing there "wasn't a clearly defined" couple to choose.

"The reason I'm not ready to go home yet is for one, I need this change," said Rebecca through tears.  "This was a good change for me, it's helped me to think a lot... Plus I let myself like Sam.  I can't help it."  Despite being a little surprised, William seemingly understood why Sam nominated him.

"Apparently he just wanted to pick a team he thought his girlfriend would beat," said William.  "But he's going to be wrong."

As Erin helped Jennifer study for the elimination round, Rebecca sobbed that "nobody wants to help me."  Jasmine, a 22-year-old nanny from Columbus, OH, consoled Rebecca and tried to help her study, assuring her "people care about you."  Sam consoled Rebecca too, but she became hysterical and Will was concerned.

"I hope she'll be able to hold it together," he said.

The geeks would answer questions about massages, fashion designs and exercise while the beauties would be quizzed on rocket science, computers and sociology.

Jennifer knew NASA's Glenn Research Center was named after astronaut John Glenn, and it was the only question either she or Rebecca would answer correctly.  William knew shiatsu was Japanese for "finger pressure" and Will didn't know which two Native American tribes rubbed their warriors before battle, leading to his and Rebecca's elimination.

"What I feel right now is a lot of mixed emotions, mainly about Sam," said Rebecca. "For some reason, it seems as if he did put us up against strong competitors for a reason.  Maybe I got played?  Maybe that was all an act... I don't know."

"Whatever Rebecca thinks about the final competition, I don't believe Sam put us up to be eliminated," correctly stated Will.  "I think with a little time and a little distance, she'll realize that Sam made a really difficult decision as best he could and that's all there is."

Beauty and the Geek 4's next episode will air Tuesday, October 16 at 8PM ET/PT on The CW.
