The Bachelorette star Charity Lawson has reacted to Brayden Bowers' abrupt exit.

Brayden suddenly and unexpectedly dumped Charity during a group date in Washington because he couldn't envision himself being ready for an engagement at the end of the process.

Brayden -- who received a lot of backlash from Charity's other bachelors -- left the show with his emotions heightened, but then he briefly returned to apologize to Charity.

"At that point, after everything that had transpired with Brayden, I was just glad that it was a closed chapter," Charity told Entertainment Weekly.

"Truth be told, I was definitely way too gracious with him, but knowing I didn't have full context or see everything is what I can rest on."

Charity had given Brayden the First Impression Rose and a special one-on-one date shortly afterward.

Adrian Hassan warned Charity that Brayden had called her "disrespectful" and "classless" for breaking Bachelor Nation's "longest kiss" record with Joey Graziadei, and Aaron Bryant let Charity know that Brayden didn't like her dating other guys and didn't think he could propose marriage in the end.

Charity kept giving Brayden second and third chances, although he was entangled in tension and drama with her other bachelors, until she found out he had packed his bags to leave The Bachelorette multiple times.

"I did what was best for me at the time, with all that I knew," Charity explained of her breakup with Brayden.

"Knowing I had a date with [Xavier Bonner the next day], I was able to just focus completely on Xavier, and give 100 percent of myself to that date."

Charity concluded, "Sometimes being kind is great, you gotta lay down the law and protect yourself."

Charity attempted to give Brayden assurance and validation for weeks since he was obviously struggling with the process and watching The Bachelorette star date other men simultaneously.

Brayden was outspoken in the house about his doubts and concerns. He told the other guys that he considered quitting the show, and Charity's other bachelors accused him of being on the show for the wrong reasons.

But Charity kept giving Brayden roses in order to see their connection through. She even called him "one of The Ones," suggesting he would've made it to her Final 4 guys or maybe even further.

Once Brayden determined that it was time for him to go, Charity didn't try to stop him.

Before the fourth Rose Ceremony of the season, however, Brayden stormed into the cocktail party to speak to Charity without saying anything to the men who had been hoping for time with Charity.

Brayden pulled Charity away from John Buresh -- which infuriated all of the men -- to apologize to The Bachelorette star and let her know that she had done nothing wrong.

Charity's bachelors then essentially chased Brayden out of the party and yelled about how he was "not a man."

"Yeah, you've got a big d-ck, man. We're good. You're showing it," Brayden yelled at Aaron B.

Curse words were thrown around and Brayden called the men "jackasses," and then he took off.

At the end of Charity's week in Washington, she eliminated John, Caleb Balgaard, and Michael Barbour.

Charity seemed thrilled with the guys she had left and felt confident that they were all on The Bachelorette's twentieth season just for her.

Brayden just addressed his The Bachelorette behavior in a lengthy Instagram post, admitting he had "crumbled under the pressure" of the dating process.
