Dotun ultimately proposed marriage to Charity in Fiji, and that's when they started the next chapter of their lives together.

Dotun and Charity shared their first off-camera exchange after getting engaged during the August 22 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast co-hosted by Bachelor in Paradise spouses Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt.

"Do you remember?" Dotun asked his fiancee during their joint interview.

"We were just in our feelings!" Charity recalled with a laugh. "We were having a moment! I think it was just hitting us, like, 'This actually just happened.'"

Charity called the 30-year-old integrative medicine specialist from Fresco, CA, "such a sweetheart."

The Bachelorette star gushed, "I would catch him just in the corner -- and I'm sorry, I'm putting you on blast -- but he would, every now and then, look up with just this pure look of love [on his face]. And I was like, 'What's going on?'"

Charity said she would check in with Dotun and ask what he was thinking about.

"We would recap every single moment of what we were feeling, and it was just such high-intensified emotions, obviously. So we kept recapping everything that led us to this the end and the proposal," Charity said.

Dotun added how he doesn't remember a specific conversation with Charity and it was more "a feeling" they both shared.

If anything, Dotun said there was a sense of "quietness" because he and The Bachelorette star were "just embracing" what they had just been through together.

"We were like, 'This is so crazy. We're here, and we made it! And what a crazy love story,'" Dotun explained. "So there was an energy that was definitely just, like, relief -- but it was also powerful and intense."

Dotun noted how he and Charity were just "basking" in the glow of their engagement.

"We were embracing that part of the journey ending and the next one beginning," Dotun shared. "A lot of grateful feelings were in the air, at that point... Our relationship was literally flawless from beginning to the end -- and even now."

The Bachelorette couple frequently referred to their romance as "a fairy tale" during the season, and their love is apparently deeper now than ever before.

"It feels right because I'm with my person. Finally, we're free, and it just feels so good!" Charity said, now that their engagement is public knowledge.

Dotun explained that while there was an "excitement" to "hiding" with Charity post-show, they're "so happy" to move forward and embrace the future.

"It's the moment we've been talking about since we left Fiji. We enjoyed the in-between and were excited about it, but the more we got to know each other, the more we wanted to be free and do normal things -- and be normal," Dotun said.

Dotun added how he and Charity "made it" and feel equipped to handle challenges together in the future. They also have a romantic trip to Greece coming up.

But one of the pair's first challenges may be Charity's busy schedule.

Charity will be one of the contestants on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, which tapes and airs this fall. The Georgia native, however, will be staying in California during her stint on the show's 32nd season, which will allow her to be close to Dotun.

Dotun and The Bachelorette star's speeches at the Final Rose Ceremony have been compared to wedding vows. They both expressed how much they valued, respected and admired each other.

"With Dotun, it boils down to a feeling you can't really place and you can't really pinpoint; you just have it and it's there, and when it comes together, you feel alive," Charity gushed on the finale of her season.

"I love Dotun, and I see, so clearly, a future with him -- a future that is going to bring me the most happiness."

Charity and Dotun said on The Bachelorette's live Season 20 finale that they are in no rush to wed; however, they can imagine planning a wedding fairly soon -- and maybe even getting married in Nigeria, according to Good Morning America.

Joey, meanwhile, was officially announced as The Bachelor star for the show's 28th season, which is expected to premiere in January 2024.

And before The Bachelor returns, ABC is premiering Bachelor in Paradise's ninth season as well as The Golden Bachelor starring Gerry Turner on Thursday, September 28 beginning at 8PM ET/PT.
