The Bachelorette villain Chris Sutton has dished on why he decided to interrupt Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya's one-on-one date.

Chris warned Michelle that Nayte had allegedly been cocky when talking about "when" -- not "if" -- he'd be receiving a one-on-one date, but then Michelle proceeded to give Chris the last available rose at the Rose Ceremony and ask Nayte out on a special one-on-one date in her home state of Minnesota.
During Thursday's episode of the "Click Bait with Bachelor Nation" podcast, podcast host Joe Amabile asked Chris what was going through his mind when he decided to crash Nayte and Michelle's romantic date to have a tense conversation with The Bachelorette star.
"I think the best way I can put it is that... I felt she felt a certain way about me. Obviously she probably thought I wasn't right for her. I was kind of feeling the same thing with the Rose Ceremony and how they work," Chris explained.
"I wasn't really thinking I'd even get a chance to go say, 'Hey, look, I just want the best for you and obviously you may think this is not right for us -- and I maybe feel the same way,' and kind of tell her how I felt and be on my way. I didn't think I'd get that chance."
Chris, however, has faced backlash for not waiting until the Rose Ceremony in Minnesota to speak his mind or simply deny Michelle's rose if he supposedly wasn't feeling it with her.
Joe's podcast co-host Tia Booth pointed out how Chris showing up on Michelle's date seemed to be a jab at Nayte, possibly a tactic to piss Nayte off or seek a little revenge.
"Actually, it was not really anything specifically with Nayte," Chris claimed. "I just wanted to say my piece and kind of be on my way."

When Chris interrupted the date and confronted Michelle, he said, "To be honest, I felt really played by the whole situation."
Chris expressed surprised and a bit of anger over Michelle giving Nayte extra attention and then asking him on a one-on-one date after Chris had warned her about his alleged arrogant attitude.

Tia asked Chris whether he thought Michelle was going to eliminate him that evening, after he crashed the date.
"Umm, yes," Chris admitted.
"There could have been a small chance she was like, 'Wow, this is a valiant effort! I'm keeping you!" Tia said with a laugh.
Chris apparently didn't think his conversation would reignite a spark with Michelle and cause something to "magically [happen]."
"Were you going there just to [say], 'We're breaking up. I'm just going to leave?'" Joe asked Chris.
"It wasn't more of like, 'We're breaking up.' I was going to just have a conversation, to basically just kind of tell her, 'Hey, you know, it's just from a genuine place. I don't mean anything bad. No bad beef,'" Chris claimed.

"She responds and tells me where she stands, and you know, I guess I'll be on my way!" Chris said.
Chris, however, said he was "obviously not" able to tell Michelle everything that was on his mind.
"I know the way the show goes, there's a certain time period and everything is -- they don't have time to fit everything in there," Chris reasoned.
"But I did have enough time to basically just say, 'Look, you know, I want the best for you and I wish you the best. Clearly you think I'm not right for you and I may not be right for you either.'"
Chris said that's where he was coming from, adding, "I just wanted to tell her, 'This is where I stand,' and then be on my way."
Joe concluded the segment by saying it seemed like Chris and Michelle "just weren't right for each other," and Chris fully agreed, "Yeah!"
Michelle acknowledged that she was caught off-guard by how Chris had chosen to approach the situation and she didn't need a man to speak for her, like Chris had attempted to do at the previous cocktail party by telling the man to fight for Michelle and pay more attention to her.
Chris then accused Michelle of "putting a fake smile on" for him and "being fake" during the Vikings group date, which resulted in Michelle sending the bachelor home. Michelle said she and Chris were "not on the same page."

Michelle said while Chris may have been coming from a genuine place of concern, he was also trying to control the decision she was making about Nayte on her own The Bachelorette journey.
Meanwhile, Nayte was trying to convince Michelle that he's humble and truly cared for her.
Nayte said he found Chris' speech at the cocktail party -- when Chris slammed the men for being overconfident -- "weird as hell" and "a strategic move in the worst way possible" to seemingly be Michelle's "protector."

"I feel like this is just something that he pulled out of his ass," Olu told the podcast's host Becca Kufrin, who starred on The Bachelorette's fourteenth season.
Olu apparently believes that Chris just "wanted to start controversy."
"His little-man syndrome kicked in, you know, clearly he was the only guy there who hasn't really gotten the most time with Michelle," Olu said.
"I think he was the only man there with the least amount of time. So, yeah, that stunt that he pulled, it was kind of B-S."
Olu explained how Nayte was probably just Chris' "easiest target" out of the group because Nayte had appeared to be Michelle's "frontrunner" after he received the coveted First Impression Rose.
