ABC has announced Viall's The Bachelor season, the franchise's 21st edition, will debut on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 8PM ET/PT.

According to the network, Nick Viall, a 35-year-old technology salesman from Milwaukee, WI, will be back "stronger than ever, ready and eager to begin his search for true love."

After two heart-breaking stints on The Bachelorette and one appearance on Season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise that ended with a failed romance, it will finally be Viall's turn to be in control of his dating life.

Viall fully intended to propose to both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe on The Bachelorette's tenth and eleventh seasons, however, both women dumped him around the time of the final Rose Ceremony for other men whom they got engaged to.

During his time on Bachelor in Paradise, Viall dated Jennifer Saviano, but the couple split on the finale because he was not in love with her.

Viall acknowledged his walls were up and his heart was guarded because he feared getting hurt and embarrassed on national television again.

His edit on Bachelor in Paradise left fans rooting for him to find lasting love and a future wife, so The Bachelor producers determined he must be their next leading man and hand out the roses.

The Bachelor is hosted by Chris Harrison and produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss, Elan Gale, Bennett Graebner and Nicole Woods serve as executive producers.
