The Bachelor star Juan Pablo Galavis apparently came close to quitting the ABC reality dating show a couple of times.

"Phew! A couple of times. Yeah, a couple of times. It's hard. I don't like hurting people, and it gets tough as you start getting to know these people better. You have to send people home and that's the hardest part of this whole process," Galavis told Access Hollywood Live in a Wednesday interview.

"Actually, you see a lot of drama -- a lot of crying and a lot of that. Some of that, I don't even see it because it happens in the house, so I'm lucky that I didn't get to see those parts because it would've been harder."

Not only did the reality TV star admit it was "lovely" making out with so many women this season, Galavis also revealed he never drinks alcohol.

"Nope," Galavis, who currently lives in Miami, FL, said when asked whether he drinks.

"[The girls] are getting hammered. I love [observing]! I do that every time I go to a club or a bar. I just look at everybody getting drunk and I just have a good time. I was like, 'Look at that guy!' I've never drank, you know, I can drink one beer with an entire lime and salt on the top and scotch -- but like, 80-year-old [scotch] -- and it takes me like two hours. But every time I go to a club, I don't drink."

Galavis, a 32-year-old single dad and former pro soccer player from Venezuela, noted that if he sees a girl get completely wasted, she's "done" in his eyes. In other words, she would no longer be seen as dating material.

"Done in a second," The Bachelor star insisted, adding he expected his bachelorettes were aware he doesn't drink from watching him on Desiree Hartsock's season of The Bachelorette and his interviews ever since.

"I've dealt with [drunks] my entire life -- when I go to clubs or soccer teams, you always see the drunk guys and you just look at them and have fun with it."

In addition, Galavis elaborated on why he was so attracted to Sharleen Joynt, whom he gave his first-impression rose to during Monday night's premiere of the show's eighteenth season.

"She's very elegant, [she had on a] different dress than everyone else. Her boobs were not hanging out," Galavis told Access Hollywood Live.

"She's worldly. She's an opera singer, lives in Germany. She's Canadian. I saw her get out of the limo and I thought, 'That dress is not from an American girl!'"

The Bachelor's next episode will air on Monday, January 13 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
