The Bachelor is set to premiere its 28th season with a two-hour episode on Monday, January 22 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC, and Joey is apparently ready for fans to watch his televised journey to find love.

While Joey can't reveal if he found love or is engaged, he opened up about how he left his time on The Bachelor feeling content and secure in his decisions.

"I'm not really a person to have regrets," Joey shared with BachelorNation.com.

"I think that what I tried to do the entire time -- and what I'll continue to try to do -- is be myself and lead with what I think is the best decision."

Joey pointed out how everyone "makes mistakes in life" but he's not going to dwell on any of them.

"I'm not going to look back on anything and say that was something I regretted," Joey said.

"I think that I did it to the best of my ability, and I know that. So, I can't really live with any regrets, with that being the case."

The 28-year-old tennis pro from Koloa, HI, said he was confident he could find his wife on The Bachelor.

"I've been through it. I know what the show can bring out, and I think one of the beautiful parts of it is you kind of are pushed to be your best self," Joey said.

"You're in an uncomfortable situation, but how you deal with those uncomfortable situations says a lot about a person. So it creates this atmosphere and this environment that I believe in. I think it's a great way to get to know someone."

Joey added, "Sometimes in dating, it takes a while to learn a lot about people and to really find out when you're compatible. There's a lot of fluff in the beginning."

Joey mentioned how there's "a lot of everyday things" a person does with his or her partner in the beginning of a romance.

"And you don't have time for that in [The Bachelor world]," Joey elaborated. "I think it makes it more real, and for some reason, for me, I think you get to know someone at their core very quickly, and I think that's a very important thing for a healthy relationship."

Joey said he ultimately felt "very lucky" to have dated 32 "inspiring" and "vulnerable" women on The Bachelor, for which he also got to travel the world.

The Bachelor viewers became acquainted with Joey when he appeared on Season 20 of The Bachelorette, which starred Charity Lawson, last year.

Joey was announced as The Bachelor star for Season 28 during The Bachelorette's live Season 20 finale, which featured Charity rejecting Joey in second place and getting engaged to her winner, Dotun Olubeko, in late August 2023.

The Bachelor viewers were already introduced to one of Joey's bachelorettes -- Lea Cayanan, a 23-year-old account manager from Waipahu, HI -- during the finale of Charity's The Bachelorette season.

Joey and Lea introduced themselves to each other in front of a screaming studio audience shortly after Joey was first announced as The Bachelor star.

The Bachelor host Jesse Palmer gave Lea a special envelope -- containing something that will "help" Lea and also shake up the season, during the finale -- and he asked her not to open it until Night 1 of filming.

In the season premiere, Joey will meet his pool of The Bachelor bachelorettes and enjoy the season's initial cocktail reception with them before sending some of them home at Season 28's first Rose Ceremony.

By the end of the night, only 22 bachelorettes will remain in the running to win The Bachelor star's heart and receive Season 28's final rose.
