The Bachelor star Colton Underwood has revealed the real reason why he chose to eliminate Hannah Brown not long after she met his parents.

During a recent episode of former The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe's Off the Vine podcast, Kaitlyn and Colton discussed his surprising and largely unexplained decision to oust the bubbly beauty queen from Alabama during his week of dates in Denver, CO.

For starters, Colton admitted it took him "a while" to appreciate Hannah B.'s depth and layers.

"The one thing that I thought early on is I had Hannah figured out. I thought she was simple, like, 'I got this.' But she's a complex person, and that was my fault for judging," Colton confessed.

"But that's literally the point of the show, figuring out relationships and trying to get to know these people. I had an unbelievable day. We went and toured and looked for homes in Denver, and then she got to meet my family."

The Bachelor star, however, apparently had trouble envisioning a life with Hannah B. while exploring the city's real estate.

"I think that was sort of when I had my moment of clarity," Colton revealed, before dropping a bombshell.

"And then after spending time with my family, I think there was a time when I was just like, 'Man, I wish that -- and this is no disrespect to her -- but it was just like, 'I wish that I could be introducing somebody else.'"

"And in that moment," Colton continued, "it was like, 'Okay, well if I'm feeling that, then my feelings aren't where they should be at this point.'"

But Kaitlyn pointed out how she liked Hannah B.'s quirks, not to mention the fact the bachelorette owned her insecurities and imperfections.

"I can get behind [someone who's a Hannah fan] because she is somebody just like [Demi Burnett] who is undeniably herself," Colton acknowledged.

On Monday night's Season 23 episode of The Bachelor, Colton shocked Hannah B. by sending her packing during the dinner portion of their romantic one-on-one date.

Not only did Hannah admit she was falling in love with Colton only days earlier, but she also felt confident Colton would want to travel to her hometown to meet her family. Hannah thought she possessed all of the qualities Colton would want in his future wife.

Colton, however, wasn't falling in love with Hannah B. in return -- and he wasn't sure he ever could.

Despite receiving some backlash from The Bachelor fans for blindsiding Hannah, Colton explained to Kaitlyn he couldn't help how he felt and was just trying to stay true to himself.

Colton now even feels bad for having judged The Bachelor's Season 22 star, Arie Luyendyk Jr., for the way he had handled situations.

Colton narrowed down his search for love to the following four bachelorettes on Monday night: Hannah Godwin, Cassie Randolph, Caelynn Miller-Keyes and Tayshia Adams.

The women's round of hometown dates will air during the next episode on Monday, February 25 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
