The Amazing Race eliminated Seth Tyler and Olive Beauregard during Thursday night's broadcast of the CBS reality competition's 29th season.

Seth, a 37-year-old police officer from Seattle, WA, and Olive, a 24-year-old firefighter from Providence, RI, paired up on the first day of the Race when they were total strangers.

"At the end of the day, it's a competition, and people are going to U-Turn you to benefit themselves," Olive said in her final words.

"I never had a moment where I regretted picking her as a partner," Seth noted, adding that the Race was an overall great experience.

In last night's episode, Seth and Olive became the third team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the season's third Pit Stop on the rooftop of a hotel in Tanzania in last place out of the nine remaining couples all thanks to a Double U-Turn.

Liz Espey, a 24-year-old auctioneer from Maryville, MO, and Michael Rado, a 37-year-old butcher from Pittsburgh, PA, ripped open the leg's first set of clues in first place at 8:47AM while still in Sao Paulo, Brazil. One minute later, Vanck Zhu, a 28-year-old Wall Street analyst from New York, NY, and Ashton Theiss, a 25-year-old residential realtor from Fort Worth, TX, departed the Brazil Pit Stop.

Vanck and Ashton were then followed by Matt Ladley, a 25-year-old pro snowboarder from Denver, CO, and Redmond Ramos, a 28-year-old former U.S. Navy corpsman from Murrieta, CA, in third place at 8:59AM; Seth and Olive at 9:32AM; Becca Droz, a 26-year-old rock climbing instructor from Boulder, CO, and Floyd Pierce, a 21-year-old college drum major from Boulder, CO at 9:56AM; and then Scott Flanary, a 34-year-old recruiting manager from West Hollywood, CA, and Brooke Camhi, a 36-year-old criminal attorney from New York, NY, at 9:57AM.

On Scott and Brooke's heels were Tara Carr, a 38-year-old U.S. Army officer from Alexandria, VA, and Joey Covino, a 46-year-old police sergeant from Saugus, MA, at 9:58AM; London Kaye, a 27-year-old artist from Brooklyn, NY, and Logan Bauer, a 27-year-old surgical consultant from Columbus, GA, at 10:04AM; and finally Sara Fowler, a 27-year-old luxury realtor from St. John, Virgin Islands, and Shamir Arzeno, a 28-year-old Wall Street banker from Jersey City, NJ, at 11:23AM.

The teams were instructed to fly to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and travel to the Askari Monument. They'd find their next clue printed inside a newspaper at a nearby newsstand. The pairs were also warned a blind Double U-Turn was ahead, meaning the teams would not find out who was responsible for U-Turning which teams.

All the teams ended up boarding the same flight to Africa, and once the plane landed, everyone took off to the monument. Shamir was shown finding the clue in the newspaper first, and he was then followed by Scott, Becca, Redmond, and Vanck. The rest of the teams were not shown finding this clue.

The clue told the teams to travel by ferry to Zanzibar for their next clue, so the teams piled in line for tickets at the ferry terminal.

However, much to everyone's surprise and dismay, Matt and Redmond skipped the line and were the first team to purchase tickets. The move insulted the other teams, especially Vanck and Ashton, who had already been burned by the male team once before. Ashton was holding a grudge and hoped for the opportunity to U-Turn Matt and Redmond.

At 7AM, the teams boarded the ferry. Once it docked, the teams were instructed to make their way via taxi to the Mkokotoni Market, knowing the Double U-Turn board would be there.

Tara and Joey arrived at the U-Turn board in first place and decided to U-Turn a strong team of frontrunners, Seth and Olive, saying "They're in a league of their own, and we wanted to give them a taste of what it's like to be back in the pack."

Vanck and Ashton then arrived at the board and opted to U-Turn Matt and Redmond as expected. The rest of the teams arrived at the blind Double U-Turn in the following order: Liz and Michael, Brooke and Scott, Becca and Floyd, Matt and Redmond, London and Logan, and finally Seth and Olive.

The two teams who were U-Turned -- meaning they must complete both sides of the Detour task -- were disappointed but remained optimistic about their chances of staying in the Race.

It then became time for the teams to complete one of two possible Detour tasks: "Build It" or "Weave It."

"Build It" required the teams to assemble wooden desks for schoolchildren, deliver the desks to a nearby schoolhouse, and then learn a few Swahili phrases from a teacher.

"Weave It" required the teams to weave two baskets from coconut leaves.

When Matt asked Tara and Joey flat out whether they were the ones responsible for Seth and Olive's U-Turn, Joey immediately lied to their faces. Meanwhile, Matt and Redmond heckled Vanck and Ashton for U-Turning them. Redmond yelled at Vanck, "I hope you're scared," before telling the cameras, "They're just so afraid of us because we're so much stronger than they are. And they're really just a weak, pathetic team."

In order to attempt either Detour task, the pairs had to travel across the bay in a traditional boat called a Dhow.

The teams who took on the building task were Tara and Joey, Vanck and Ashton, Liz and Michael, Brooke and Scott, Becca and Floyd, and Shamir and Sara. London and Logan chose "Weave It" because this was London's specialty since she's an artist and crochets complicated pieces.

While Matt and Redmond decided to weave baskets first, Seth and Olive chose to begin their U-Turn with building as to not light a fire under the guys to work faster or harder. The two teams realized they were basically racing against themselves and each other, no one else.

However, Matt and Redmond flew through the building task and impressed everyone who was struggling, including Brooke and Scott.

Seth and Olive were the first team to complete "Build It," and then they headed off to weave baskets, which they found much more challenging. Liz and Michael finished next but were technically in first place since Seth and Olive had another task to complete.

Matt and Redmond then finished the baskets task, followed by Tara and Joey -- who were technically in second place at this point -- Brooke and Scott, Vanck and Ashton, Becca and Floyd, and then London and Logan.

After completing both Detours, Matt and Redmond were in seventh place, followed by Shamir and Sara in eighth and finally Seth and Olive in ninth -- and last -- place.

The teams' next set of clues instructed them to travel by taxi to Darajani Market and search for their next clue by the front entrance.

Tara and Joey got to the market in first place. On their heels were Liz and Michael, Vanck and Ashton, Becca and Floyd, London and Logan, Brooke and Scott, Matt and Redmond, Shamir and Sara, and finally Seth and Olive.

It then became time for one Racer from each team to complete a Roadblock task.

For the Roadblock, the participating Racers were given a list of 18 local items which they had to use their leg money to purchase.

The team members who decided to attempt this task were Michael, Joey, Vanck, Matt, Floyd, London, Brooke, Sara, and Olive.

Floyd and London decided it was smart to work together since they arrived at the task at the same time. It was difficult for the Racers to find certain food items they have never seen before, and it was also important to negotiate with the men running the market because it was easy to run out of money. Sara experienced this problem and had to beg one local for a little money back.

Shamir and Sarah figured Seth and Olive were the only team who could be behind them at this point in the leg. Seth and Olive were also well aware they were fighting not to finish last.

Liz and Michael completed the Roadblock task in first place. They were then followed by Tara and Joey, Vanck and Ashton, Matt and Redmond, Becca and Floyd, London and Logan, Brooke and Scott, Shamir and Sara, and Seth and Olive.

A handful of teams couldn't believe that Matt and Redmond finished the Roadblock task before them when they had been U-Turned. Once Seth and Olive finished, Seth said his team was going to run to the Pit Stop rather than hop in a taxi, thinking they might get there faster.

Teams raced to the Pit Stop, which was located on the rooftop of a hotel called Emerson on Hurumzi.

Liz and Michael met The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan on the Pit Stop mat before any of the other teams arrived. For finishing in first place, the team was awarded a trip to Amsterdam.

Tara and Joey completed the leg in second place. Behind them were third-place finishers Vanck and Ashton. Matt and Redmond stepped on the mat and claimed fourth place, followed by Becca and Floyd in fifth place, London and Logan in sixth place, and Brooke and Scott in seventh place.

However, Becca and Floyd later learned they could not officially check into the Pit Stop without Floyd's passport. The stressed out and nervous team retraced their steps, and luckily for Floyd, their cab driver was standing nearby with his passport, ready to hand it back.

Shamir and Sara made it to the Pit Stop in the middle of all this commotion, so they checked in with Phil in seventh place. Becca and Floyd then officially claimed eighth place due to their mistake. Seth and Olive later arrived at Emerson on Hurumzi in ninth -- and last -- place.
