The 25-year-old former Survivor: Philippines castaway welcomed a baby boy, Ledger James Appel, with her boyfriend Rich Appel on Friday, February 3.

Layton was one week past her due date when her son finally arrived after 41 weeks of pregnancy.

Layton announced the big news on Instagram by sharing a photo of her little bundle of joy cuddled into her chest in the hospital.

"Just like that my whole world changed. I love you so much Ledger James," the new mom captioned the adorable photo in which it appeared she was crying tears of joy. She later added with new photos, "There is no greater gift," and he's her "whole heart."

Ledger was born 21.5 inches long, weighing eight pounds and eight ounces.

Appel also shared an image of the newborn baby in his arms on social media with the following caption: "Never known a love like this."

Layton and her child were released from the hospital on Sunday, February 5, and the blonde beauty couldn't wait to get her "happy baby" home to the couple's beautiful nursery -- which includes a grey and white color scheme as well as oversized stuffed animals.

Layton, who won Miss Utah USA 2014 and Miss Utah Teen USA 2010, revealed her baby's sex on Instagram in September 2016 and documented her pregnancy afterward by sharing updates and baby-bump pictures. Her last post before going into labor was a photo of herself at 41 weeks.

"I've never been so anxious in my life... but the best things in life are worth waiting for right?" she wrote in the caption, just three days before delivering Ledger.

Layton was a 20-year-old student from Provo, UT, when she competed on Survivor's 25th edition. She was the youngest player in the cast that season and was the third castaway booted from the show.
