Ralph, who competed on Survivor: Redemption Island in 2011, died unexpectedly on Wednesday morning due to a heart attack, according to his family, The Sun reported.

Ralph's nephew George Kiser told The Sun how Ralph's death shocked his loved ones and he died at 3:15AM.

"He was a hard working man, and a damn good hunter," George said.

Many fellow Survivor alums have tweeted about Ralph's death, hoping that he rests in peace.

Ralph was eliminated from Survivor: Redemption Island after he lost the season's eleventh Redemption Island duel to Matt Elrod, Mike Chiesl and Andrea Boehlke during a May 2011 broadcast, which marked the 13th episode of the CBS reality series' 22nd edition.

At the time he was on the show, Ralph was a 44-year-old farmer from Lebanon, VA.

Ralph told Reality TV World in his Survivor exit interview that he stood out in the casting process by sending CBS a video of himself "nursing on a cow."

Ralph said at the time of casting that he was inspired by his farm.

"I've been at it all my life," Ralph said. "I'm always amazed at my animals -- how they grow and survive. Being able to watch the circle of life go 'round and be a part of it is a very satisfying adventure that I never get tired of."

Ralph enjoyed hunting, hiking and traveling, and his personal claim to fame was being completely debt-free in his forties with no car payment or mortgage.

Ralph also owned two homes on the same farm and described himself as "determined, strong-willed and stubborn," according to his CBS bio.

Ralph applied to be on Survivor after watching the show for years as a Super Fan.

"[I] knew one day I'd get my chance," Ralph said in 2011. "I want to be a hometown hero for the folks back home!"

Ralph was confident he'd do well in the game because he's "an outdoors mountain man."

"I know plants, trees and what most of their uses are. I can also build anything; start a fire anywhere and make people believe anything I say!" Ralph said.
