Brittany Cherry, a 19-year-old Latin ballroom dancer from Toluca Lake, CA, and Carlos Garland, a 24-year-old contemporary dancer from Jacksonville, FL, were eliminated by So You Think You Can Dance judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy and guest judge Christina Applegate after they found themselves in the week's bottom-six dancers based on home viewer votes cast immediately following last Tuesday night's show, which featured the season's Top 20 finalists performing.

Makenzie Dustman, an 18-year-old contemporary dancer from Temecula, CA; Alan Bersten, a 19-year-old ballroom dancer from Minnetonka, MN; Mariah Spears, a 19-year-old hip-hop dancer from Phoenix, AZ; and Jade Zuberi, a 21-year-old animation dancer from Dearborn Heights, MI, were the other four bottom-six vote-getting dancers still in danger of elimination prior to Brittany and Carlos' ouster.

Makenzie and Alan were saved by the So You Think You Can Dance judges right off the bat. Nigel, Mary and Christina then asked Mariah and Jade to dance for their lives in addition to Brittany and Carlos.

Following the four solo performances, the judges chose to eliminate Brittany and Carlos.

The judges were required to eliminate two individuals -- one male and one female -- last night based on their performances from the week prior. The judges also based their decision on other criteria including the dancers' overall potential in the competition and what their choreographers had to say about their talent and progress on the show.

Carlos and Mariah were paired together for a jive routine last week, while Brittany was partnered up with "BluPrint," a 20-year-old animation dancer from Atlanta, GA, for an afrojazz performance. Jade's partner was Malece Miller, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Los Angeles, CA. They danced a jazz routine last Tuesday night.

So You Think You Can Dance's third tenth-season performance show, which will also feature another round of elimination results, will air on Tuesday, July 9 at 8PM ET/PT and the 18 remaining finalists will dance again for home viewer votes.
