Rosalia says her love of her learning motivated her to create songs in 13 different languages on her new album Lux, which dropped earlier this month.
"I love learning. I love learning things, so I wanted to learn different languages since long ago. I've been practicing in Duolingo, you know. But sometimes, I'm like, 'I need to do more,'" she told Fallon.
"While I was figuring out what the concept was -- which I was curious about learning from other cultures, learning like how spirituality can be understood in many different places of the world in different ways -- I was learning from different saints from all across the world," she said of her process. "Depending on the story that I wanted to reference, I would use a language or another."
Rosalia also took to the stage to perform "La Perla" in Spanish. She appeared in a short, strapless white dress with a short tulle train.
"You're finally in therapy," she sings. "Going to a psychologist and a psychiatrist, but what's it worth if you lie more than you talk? They'll build a monument to your dishonesty."Other songs on the album include "Sexo, Violencia y Llantas," "Reliquia," "Divinize," "Porcelana," "Mio Cristo Piange Diamanti," "Berghain," "Muno Nueo," "De Madruga," "Dios Es Un Stalker," "La Yugular," Sauvignon Blanc,La Rumba Del Perdon,Memoria" and "Magnolias."
