Kate Gosselin's close relationship to her family's bodyguard has reportedly raised the suspicion of her husband Jon.

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 patriarch is said to be uneasy about the nature of the relationship between Kate and bodyguard Steven Neild -- whom she preemptively denied having an alleged affair with earlier this week.

"[Jon] threatened to hire a private investigator," said a family source in an Us Weekly cover story report in the magazine's May 25 issue.

Kate and Neild were described as "very physical, often touching each other" by an employee at a recent Jon & Kate Plus 8 promotional appearance, according to Us.

"She was gently poking him, giving him little love pats, totally unlike the slapping she does with Jon," the employee told Us.  "She and Steve were joking around so much, I actually wondered if they were having an affair. There's a lot of open affection between them."

Neild's wife Gina -- a former close friend of Kate's -- told Us talk of an affair is "ridiculous," which is the way Kate has also described the allegations.

"The next story coming out from the animals that stalk us is about our security person and his family," Kate told People in a preemptive denial earlier this week. "Already the allegations they're making about me are disgusting, unthinkable, unfathomable, and I am horrified."

The Gosselin family has been inundated with allegations of infidelity in recent weeks.

Jon has most recently been fighting allegations that he has been having an affair with Deanna Hummel, a 23-year-old schoolteacher.  Both Jon and Hummel have denied the allegations, which began when Us Weekly published a cover story report in which the pair where photographed leaving a Pennsylvania club alone at 2AM on April 18.

The allegations involving Jon and Hummel resurfaced last week when Us published a follow-up cover story report in which Deanna's brother Jason Hummel told the magazine its earlier report was correct and he could confirm the pair have been having an affair for the past few months.

In its new issue, Us reported that Jon and Deanna had a mid-march at a local Ruby Tuesday's restaurant and were described by a waitress as "romantic and lovey-dovey."

In addition, Deanna, a girlfriend and Jon attended Spring Gruv in Utah on March 28 while Kate was away, according to Us, which also reported that Jon and Deanna were also photographed "all over each other" by a cell phone camera while at Paolo's Restaurant & Bar in Reading, PA on on April 17.

Kate recently stated she's unsure if her marriage can survive the recent allegations, however the family source told Us the relationship already appears to be over.

"Jon says it's over," said the source. "Kate doesn't want to work on it, he doesn't want to work on it."
