The film stars Johnny Sequoyah as Lucy, a woman who has returned home to Hawaii with some friends to visit her family. Academy Award-winner Troy Kotsur plays her father and Jessica Alexander, Victoria Wyant, Kae Alexander and Kevin McNally also star. Miguel Torres Umba performs the role of Ben, the chimp.

The trailer opens with Lucy introducing her friends to Ben and showing them how he uses a tablet to communicate. At night, though, something attacks Ben, and he contracts rabies.
