MTV has announced it has inked an option deal to give the 30-year-old Jersey Shore star his own spinoff reality series.

"At the heart of Jersey Shore is the unique and genuine cast and Pauly D. truly embodies both qualities," MTV executive Chris Linn said.

"He's distinguished himself onscreen as the fun-loving, well-coiffed and dependable guy you can't help but want to hang out with. We know viewers are curious about his life away from the shore and we look forward to exploring new possibilities around that."

A pilot presentation of the new series was shot in September by 495 Productions, the same production company behind Jersey Shore, according to the network.

Reports that DelVecchio would be getting his own MTV reality series which would follow his deejay activities had surfaced in September.

DelVecchio was subsequently spotted with a reality camera crew in tow during an appearance in Providence, RI but declined to comment on the spinoff reports.

"It's all top-secret stuff," the Rhode Island native told the Providence Journal at the time. "I can't talk about it."

DelVecchio started spinning in the club scene when he was 18-years-old at local spots and private functions in Rhode Island.  As a result of the Jersey Shore's success, he is currently deejaying worldwide while maintaining a home in Las Vegas, NV.
