Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio may be able to put his hairstyling expertise to good use, as the former Jersey Shore star is now the father of a baby girl.

"I'm proud I'm a father. I am excited to embark on this new part of my life," the 33-year-old former Jersey Shore and The Pauly D Project star told TMZ.
The 26-year-old mother, whose identity remains unknown, reportedly hooked up with DelVecchio last year while he was deejaying in Las Vegas. DelVecchio, according to the website, took a DNA test which proved he is the child's father. The mother has also allegedly filed court documents in New Jersey to formalize the paternity.
A source told E! News DelVecchio is "very excited" about being a dad and "has always wanted kids."
"[Pauly is] ready to jump in and take responsibility as a father," the source said. "[He] wasn't exactly planning for it to happen this way, but God works in mysterious ways."
DelVecchio reportedly had no previous relationship with his baby girl's mother but he's "hoping to develop" one now.
Fellow former Jersey Shore co-star Jenni "JWoww" Farley also weighed-in on the news DelVecchio will be a Dad.
"Holy sh-t I just heard!" Farley told E! News. "I'm so f-cking happy for him I just texted him. Crying! He's going to be the best dad ever!"
DelVecchio is apparently following in the footsteps of current Dancing with the Stars contestant Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who also previously starred in Jersey Shore. She gave birth to her first child with fiance Jionni LaValle, a baby boy named Lorenzo, in August 2012.
